General

OPTAVIA’s highest priority is the health and safety of our Community. Due to the uncertainty related to COVID-19 and the ever-changing guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have made the difficult decision to cancel OPTAVIA Convention 2020. The event will not be rescheduled, but we look forward to being together next year in 2021! Stay tuned this fall for more details.

The cancellation of OPTAVIA Convention 2020 will not impact Sundance Advanced Leadership Retreat XV in October or the newly rescheduled International Leadership Advancement Trip 2020 in November.

Registration

We will take care of this for you! To make it easier for our OPTAVIA Convention 2020 registrants, OPTAVIA will cancel your registration on your behalf.

Yes! OPTAVIA will be waiving the US$25 cancellation fee and refunding each registrant the full amount paid at the time of registering, including any Optional Add-Ons, if applicable. Refunds will be issued within 3-5 business days of the cancellation announcement (Monday, April 13) to the credit/debit card used when registering.

If the credit/debit card used at the time of registering is no longer active, please reach out to your bank/credit card company for assistance.

Yes! Please allow 3-5 business days for refunds to be issued to the credit/debit card used for the US$25 cancellation fee and/or Optional Add-Ons.

OPTAVIA Partner Hotels

If you booked a room at an OPTAVIA Partner hotel through our OPTAVIA booking website, we will cancel your room reservation on your behalf. Hotel room reservation cancellations will be made the week of April 13, 2020 with cancellation confirmation emails to follow. Please also refer to the individual hotel’s cancellation policy regarding refunds. If you have any questions, please contact the hotel directly.

Please work directly with the property where you booked your hotel room reservation to cancel.

Travel

While OPTAVIA was able to provide discount codes for United and Delta, we do not have access to any reservations made. We strongly encourage you to contact the airline you booked with to request a refund or a credit to be used for future travel.

Healthy Habits For All

In response to COVID-19, the OPTAVIA Community is uniting behind our philanthropic initiative, Healthy Habits For All. Schools across the country are closed, where nearly 22 million low-income kids rely on free and reduced-price meals. For some kids, meals at school are the only nutritious food they’ll receive on a given day.

We have expanded our partnership with national nonprofit, No Kid Hungry, to provide emergency grants and other assistance to help make sure that kids don’t suffer from a lack of healthy food during this time.

If you are interested in supporting our Healthy Habits For All initiative, we strongly encourage you to consider donating the US$25 previously earmarked as a donation through Unplugged with Dr. A (to be refunded with the OPTAVIA event registration) as a direct donation to No Kid Hungry. Every donation made through nokidhungry.org/OPTAVIA, will be matched by the company behind OPTAVIA, Medifast®, up to $20,000.
